Better Late Than Never

Victoria Day Monday. It’s 10AM. I’ve started post processing the photos from the wedding I shot over the weekend. My phone rings and it’s my cousin. He asks me if I could shoot a last minute wedding for one of his friends at city hall in about an hour!? It’s going to be small and short and it’s a favour for my cousin. So I agreed cus’ after all, we’re family! So I quickly showered and packed my gear which hasn’t really been unpacked from the weekend wedding and headed out. I’ve shot a couple of weddings at Mississauga City Hall, but this was the first at the Markham Civic Center. The weather held up from the weekend, but at high noon, the light was glaring down from a cloudless sky. Not the best of conditions, but I’ll work with it.
It was strange that a government building/service was open on a statutory holiday, but the official said that for weddings, they are open everyday, rain or shine, holiday or not.
The wedding was small and quaint, as expected. Jason and Joyce were very pleasant to work with and I had a good time meeting my cousin’s friends. Congratulations Jason & Joyce and best wishes to your life together back in HK!
